Psychotherapy is a confidential space where we explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that helps you understand yourself and your relationships more deeply. It’s not about “fixing” you — it’s about learning new ways to relate to your mind, body, and others. For many first-generation clients, therapy becomes a bridge between cultures — a place to make sense of old patterns while building new ways of being.

If you often feel anxious, exhausted, disconnected, or find yourself repeating patterns that don’t feel aligned with who you are, therapy can help. You don’t need to wait until things feel “bad enough.” Therapy can be both preventative and healing — a space to reflect, reset, and build tools that support long-term wellbeing.

I offer:

• Individual therapy: 60- or 90-minute sessions

• Couples therapy: 60-, 90-, or 150-minute sessions
  

Each option has its benefits:

• 60 minutes works well for weekly or bi-weekly sessions that focus on steady progress.

• 90 minutes allows more space to unpack complex issues, especially when we’re exploring trauma, relationships, or identity.

• 150 minutes (often for couples or deep-dive sessions) gives both partners time to feel heard and to practice communication tools in real-time.

We’ll talk about what brings you in, your hopes, and what’s been hard. You’ll also have time to ask questions about my approach. It’s a collaborative process — not a medical interview. You can share as much or as little as you like.

Most sessions are 50 minutes. Many people start with a weekly schedule or every other week and adjust as we go. Length and frequency are flexible and based on your needs, goals, and budget.

Intensive Couples: 150 mins

Many clients from immigrant and first-generation backgrounds carry layered stories — family expectations, intergenerational trauma, cultural values, and daily stress. Longer sessions give us space to move at a pace that feels respectful, especially when English isn’t your first language or when translation between cultures and emotions takes time. There’s no rush to fit everything into an hour.

Everyone’s journey looks different. Some clients come for a few months to work on specific goals; others stay longer to deepen self-understanding and relational healing. I check in regularly so we can adjust the pace and direction together.

Current fees are listed on my Jane booking page. I offer a limited sliding scale when available. Many insurance plans in Ontario reimburse services from a Registered Psychotherapist or a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying; please check your plan. Receipts include my CRPO registration details.

I believe therapy should be both meaningful and sustainable. We’ll discuss finances openly before your first session. Together, we can align a plan that fits your benefits coverage and long-term therapy goals. I don’t believe money should be a barrier to care, and I’m transparent about costs from the start — no surprises, no hidden fees.

Online therapy can be just as effective, and you can choose whichever feels more comfortable for you.

I use an integrative approach. This can include IFS parts work, CBT for thoughts and habits, emotion-focused work for couples, somatic and breath practices, behavioural activation for low mood, and gentle psychodynamic exploration of the "why." We keep what helps, set aside what does not, and move at your pace.

Yes. Everything we discuss stays between us, except in rare cases where there’s a risk of harm or when required by law. Confidentiality creates safety — and I take that responsibility very seriously.

We look for small, real-life changes. For example, you might experience steadier sleep or energy, less reactivity, clearer words in hard moments, easier repair after tension, or feel more choice and calm in your body. We check in regularly and adjust the plan together so it fits your life.

That’s completely okay. Many of my clients are trying therapy for the first time. The first session is simply a conversation — we explore what’s been happening for you, what you hope for, and how I can help. You don’t need to have the “right words.” My job is to make the process comfortable, clear, and paced around your readiness.

Yes, absolutely. As a therapist who works with first-generation and immigrant communities, I understand that therapy might feel unfamiliar or even uncomfortable at first. We’ll honor both your cultural values and your personal needs — you don’t have to choose one over the other. Therapy can become a space to translate between worlds, not erase them.
