You deserve therapy that honours your whole story.

My name is Priya Jeyakanthan.
I AM A REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST (QUALIFYING) IN ONTARIO.
I support BIPOC, immigrant, and first-generation professionals and creatives navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, stress, and relationship challenges. I bring lived experience and graduate training together to offer care that is culturally grounded, compassionate, and holistic, attending to mind, body, and community.
As an ally, I welcome 2SLGBTQIA+ clients, all genders and orientations, and all family constellations. Your name and pronouns are respected, your faith and culture are honoured, and you will not have to translate yourself to be understood. We adapt to your learning style and access needs so therapy feels usable in real life.
My vision is to grow HolistiCare into a full holistic centre with therapy, workshops, and community support that help people feel steadier, understood, and empowered. I work with warmth, gentleness, and integrity. We go at your pace, practise skills in session, and use evidence-informed approaches without jargon. You are seen as a whole person, not a label.
Family Context
02
I learned early that my dad lives with bipolar disorder with psychosis. I have seen stigma up close and how trauma/adversity can echo through families and borders.
Where I Began
I arrived in Canada as a young refugee. English was new. People were new. I know what disorientation feels like.
01
The Turning Point
A psychology course opened the door. For over fifteen years, I worked with many practitioners. Good therapy gave me language and skills, and, at crucial moments, it saved my life.
03
Naming Both Truths
I received excellent care. I also faced harm and retraumatization. Systems can help, and they can wound. I name both so we can do better together.
04
If You Have Heard This
“You are too sensitive.” “Therapy is not for people like us.” “It is just stress.” “Be strong and carry on.” I have heard those lines too. You adapted. That is wisdom.

How Place Matters
Living across Markham, Scarborough, Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, and Mississauga taught me that location, access, and community shape stress, relationships, and what help even feels possible.
Money Is Part Of Mental Health
Years in banking taught me how financial stress and financial trauma show up in the body and in relationships. We talk about fees and resources clearly.

How I Practise Now
I blend lived experiences and evidence based practices, as well as an integrative approach including CBT, and IFS. I also work through a decolonising lens, that pays attention to power and access.
In The Room With You
Therapy is learning. We stay present with the process, try tools together, and keep what fits your life, culture, community, and finance. Consent and pacing are central.

Who I Welcome
Everyone is welcomed. Individuals and couples who feel unseen, over-responsible, anxious, angry, numb, or tired of carrying family rules that never fit. First and second generation migrants, refugees, war survivors, and anyone who has felt lost in the system.
“Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence.”
— PETER A. LEVINE, WAKING THE TIGER: HEALING TRAUMA
